Anti Virus / Spyware Removal and Prevention

Viruses range from a mild annoyance, to exremely distructive, deleting data, sending personal data out onto the internet, recording log-in details and pin numbers to bank accounts. There are stories in the paper every day about people who have had their bank accounts plundered by internet fraudsters.

Spyware is, as its name implies, is malicious software that spies on your on-line behaviour, recording which sites you visited, which pages you looked at, even what you searched for !
This data is then sent back to various dubious companies who use the data to bombard you with adverts and unwanted spam.

Running normal anti-virus software on an infected machine will not always resolve the problem as many of the more sophisticated viruses recognise anti-virus software and disable it.
If you have been infected by a virus I can scan your computer by booting into a non-Windows enviroment using a special technician's disc and remove the offending virus (please note that if the virus has damaged or deleted some of your data it might not be possible to retrieve it).
I can set up protective anti virus and anti spyware software on your computer which will scan all your files, identifying and removing any virus or spyware it may find.
I will also set up a firewall on your computer – this acts as a “shield” between your computer and the internet, so you have control over which programs can send or receive data from the internet, and keep hackers out.
Finally I can run Windows Update to ensure that your Windows system has all of the latest updates from Microsoft.

Some high street retailers offer a virus removal service, but will then try and sell you rather pricey anti-virus software.
After cleaning your system, the anti virus and anti spyware software I install will be legitimately free software.
